How can you incorporate daily routine into site, search and social marketing?

I got a request to show some samples of how you can set up content chains around your daily activities.  When you use your site as the source of approved content about your company it can serve three purposes: Site, Search and Social.

PGX wanted to build customer connections

PGX® is an incredible supplement resulting from many years of research on the link between blood sugar imbalance, appetite and weight gain. For such an awesome product, PGX needed an equally amazing PowerSite. PGX wanted its site to act as a social media hub, driving membership and promoting its Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels. The company wanted its PowerSite to increase prospects and build up its lists such as its e-mail, member and social media lineups. It also needed its site to connect with one of its spokespeople, Julia Havey. Julia, a best-selling weight loss author, is on a mission to help people around the world reach their weight loss goals. Blogs and articles on the site fuel her own 130-pound weight loss story and the PGX program. PGX literally wanted a promotional channel built right around their target market, and that’s exactly what we created. When it comes to content development, PGX references its brand playbook to ensure that its brand messaging is embedded in all content. Since its social media pages are fully integrated into its PowerSite, they only have to post content once and watch as it disperses across all their platforms.

The Break Up: A great video on how marketing must change

The following video, produced by Microsoft and available on YouTube, first appeared in 2008. It was revolutionary then and it is still a great illustration of how marketing must change to remain relevant. One-way dialogue and shouting your messages just don’t work anymore. Modern marketing is about creating a relationship with consumers, and providing educational, informative content. At Kocina Branding & Marketing Companies we help our clients develop helpful content, and then communicate with their customers through multiple channels including traditional and new media.

“Social Media Revolution” fuels marketing through social networks

During my last “Creating a Social Media Plan” class, a client asked about a video they had recently seen about the growth of social media marketing. The video they were referring to, “Social Media Revolution” was posted by Socialnomics over a year ago, yet it’s still turning the heads of business people and marketers who see the value in using social media for business. According to “Social Media Revolution,” 25 percent of search results for the world’s top 20 brands are links to user-generated content. It also mentions that 34 percent of bloggers post opinions about products and brands. I’ve posted the video below. You should really watch it: it’s packed with even more evidence for why businesses should be using social media to connect with their customers.

Social Media for Trade Associations

I spoke with a client today with whom I hadn’t spoken to in a while.  She works for a national trade association and was interested in what we were up to.  I talked about how our focus has been directed towards Web sites that are used for communication and content syndication.  Really part sales, part content management and syndication, and part inbound marketing through targeting search terms.  I had a full day and my presentation, which usually flows right off my tongue, came out rather sloppily.  You really need to be “on” when explaining this stuff.

15 iPad Apps for Marketing

I am working on several great projects and always talking to interesting people during most of my days, but what the iPad has given me is a one place to focus on our own online marketing efforts.  When I pick it up it focuses me on running my Web site. Continue reading
